SAT Dates 2024-25

SAT's will be held at Valley View High School on Saturday, October 5, 2024. The deadline to register for this date is September 24, 2024.

Registered students are asked to arrive by 7:30 am and wait outside the Commons area doors for the SAT staff to greet you and direct you to your testing room. Please bring an acceptable ID, a fully-charged personal laptop (unless using a school-managed device), your calculator, snack & drink.

Additional test dates are as follows:

November 2, 2024 - Deadline: October 18, 2024

December 7, 2024 - Deadline: November 22, 2024

March 8, 2025 - Deadline: February 25, 2025 (*VVHS TEST CENTER)

May 3, 2025- Deadline: April 18, 2025

June 7, 2025 - Deadline: May 22, 2025 (*VVHS TEST CENTER)

Advanced Placement Testing

Advanced Placement offers students at Valley View High School the opportunity to take college-level courses and exams. These courses allow students to potentially earn college credit, fulfill prerequisites for the first year in college, and give themselves an edge in the college admissions process. Students have the opportunity to sign up for AP courses during the spring. PSAT/NMSQT 2024

The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on Saturday, October 12, 2024 beginning at 8:00 AM. Juniors and Sophomores who wish to take the PSAT this year will register with the Guidance Office in early September. Since there are a limited number of the tests available, registration will be on a first come/first serve basis. The cost of the test is $30.00 Cash, check, or money order will be accepted. Checks can be made out to “Valley View Guidance”. The student will receive a practice booklet at the time of registration. The deadline to register in the Guidance Office is Friday, September 20, 2024.

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a program cosponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). It's a standardized test that provides first-hand and practice for the SAT®. It also gives you a chance to enter NMSC scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools.

The PSAT/NMSQT measures:

· Critical reading skills

· Math problem-solving skills

· Writing skills

You have developed these skills over many years, both in and out of school. This test doesn't require you to recall specific facts from your classes.
