Wire Board Project


     Students will learn how to use various tools while completing this project. Using 10 different wire types you will construct a project board listing wire types, wire gauge, insulation type, and possible usages.

Students will read the handout and answer questions on Unit 19 (How to make continuity tests). A paper layout project will follow this instruction unit. Students will work in groups of two to complete this project. Twenty screw terminals are required with a dead and spliced wire for full project credit.

CO2 Race Car Lesson

Drum Sanding

We will use the drill press drum sander to sand away all the jig saw marks and to make our final car design shapes.


Power Scroll Saw

Students will learn how to rough cut their CO2 cars using the power saw. You will cut within 1/8" to allow for drum sanding.

 

Painting Lesson

Lesson on how to paint the race cars using multiple layers of paint. We will also learn how to sand between coats.

 

Dragster Tournament

Students will enter into a double elimination tournament with the goal of becoming the class champion. All races will be run by the students using the cafeteria as our racing site.
