SAT Dates 2026-27

SAT's will be held at Valley View High School on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The deadline to register for this date is September 18, 2026.

To register, go to https://www.collegeboard.org.

Registered students are asked to arrive by 7:30 am and wait outside the Commons area doors for the SAT staff to greet you and direct you to your testing room. Please bring an acceptable ID, a fully-charged personal laptop (unless using a school-managed device), your calculator, snack & drink.

November 7, 2026 - Deadline: October 23, 2026

December 5, 2026 - Deadline: November 20, 2026 (*VVHS TEST CENTER)

March 6, 2027 - Deadline: February, 19, 2027 (*VVHS TEST CENTER)

May 1 2027 - Deadline: April 16, 2027

June 5, 2027 - Deadline: May 21, 2027 (*VVHS TEST CENTER)

Valley View's Collaboration with Scranton Counseling Center

We are excited to announce Valley View's collaboration with Sranton Counseling Center. Our goal is to help students reach and embrace their full potential.

School-based therapy plays a crucial role in addressing the diverse needs of students, fostering their emotional well-being, and creating a conducive environment for academic success. Scranton Counseling Center School-Based therapy integrates mental health services within the school setting, promoting accessibility and early intervention.

Advanced Placement Testing

Advanced Placement offers students at Valley View High School the opportunity to take college-level courses and exams. These courses allow students to potentially earn college credit, fulfill prerequisites for the first year in college, and give themselves an edge in the college admissions process. Students have the opportunity to sign up for AP courses during the spring. PSAT/NMSQT 2026

The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on Saturday, October 17, 2026 beginning at 8:00 AM. Juniors and Sophomores who wish to take the PSAT this year will register with the Guidance Office in early September. Since there are a limited number of the tests available, registration will be on a first come/first serve basis. The cost of the test is $30.00 Cash, check, or money order will be accepted. Checks can be made out to “Valley View Guidance”. The deadline to register in the Guidance Office is Friday, September 18, 2026.

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a program cosponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). It's a standardized test that provides first-hand and practice for the SAT®. It also gives you a chance to enter NMSC scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools.

The PSAT/NMSQT measures:

· Critical reading skills

· Math problem-solving skills

· Writing skills
